I love dissecting words and looking for greater meaning like the word Apartment.  What sets you “Apart” and why are you “Meant” for the multifamily industry?

I knew from a young age I cared more deeply about others. I have always enjoyed helping people and sharing information I had. I fell in love with the industry pretty quickly and knew I had found a place I could thrive.

How and when did you get your start in the industry?

I remember the first apartment I moved into and how fun the agent was. I thought I could do that. I searched through the help wanted ads but every place I looked wanted previous experience! I finally was put in touch with Human Landscaping, who finally found me a place that would take me on.

What is one song that always puts you in a good mood?

There are so many! But Dolly Parton's - Light of a Clear Blue Morning still makes me smile and brings hope into any day! 

 

What are 3 tips you would give someone considering a career in multifamily?

Find your passion in serving people! 2) Fall in LOVE with what you do. 3) Don't focus on company politics, focus on the things that make you better! 

 

What is your proudest moment in multifamily?

I have them still, all the time! When I can leave a group of people who stop me and say they learned something very valuable from me. 

 

Who is your mentor and why?

Pauline Houchins! Her drive for excellence taught me to reach further than the stars. She taught me to be the best at everything you do!  

 

What book has left the biggest impression on your life?

Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. I read this when I was younger. It was the first time I remembered being pulled into the excitement and drama of the characters. I thought about them during day, excited to get back into the story to see what would happen next.  

 

If you ever owned an apartment community, where would it be and what would you name it?

If I could own an apartment community, I would want it to be in Charleston SC. Charleston is one of the most beautiful places in the South to me. I would name it “Bella on the Bay.”

 

What is your most memorable vacation?

Mediterranean Cruise of Greece and Rome - The most beautiful place on earth! 

 

If our country went to 4-day work weeks, how would you spend your 5th day?

With the people I love- Friends and Family! Lazy days on the lake- Dinners- Wine and Music.
